Manage dev previews on your dev store without leaving admin

Shopify CLI 3.91 Adds In-Admin Dev Preview Management
Shopify has updated the Dev Console in Shopify CLI version 3.91 to display all active dev previews and their extensions directly within the Shopify admin interface.
What Changed
The Dev Console now provides a centralized view of development previews without requiring developers to switch between tools. The interface displays metadata for each preview, including the developer who created it and the last update timestamp.
Developers can now perform several actions directly from the admin:
- Access preview links for apps and extensions
- Generate QR codes for mobile device testing
- Remove outdated dev previews
- Navigate to apps in the Dev Dashboard
Impact on Development Workflow
This update reduces context switching during the development process. Previously, managing dev previews required navigating between the CLI, browser tabs, and the Shopify admin. The consolidated interface streamlines testing workflows, particularly for teams where multiple developers work on the same dev store.
The QR code generation feature addresses a common friction point in mobile testing. Developers can now quickly transfer preview URLs to mobile devices without manually copying links or using third-party QR code generators.
Implementation Details
The Dev Console becomes available when developers run their apps through Shopify CLI 3.91 or later. The feature works with existing dev stores and requires no additional configuration beyond updating to the latest CLI version.
Teams managing multiple concurrent previews will benefit from the cleanup functionality, which helps maintain organized development environments by removing obsolete preview instances that accumulate during active development cycles.
